Tidal Flood Risk

The assessment of the risk of coastal flooding is dependent upon accurate figures for mean sea level (ML) and Highest Astronomical Tide (HAT) and their relationship to the vertical land datum.
Our analysis of tide gauge data precisely determines ML & HAT which together with the gauge datum provides a figure for the local difference between sea and land datums. This figure is vital in the specification of coastal defences.
With over 15 years experience in the tidal analysis and prediction field we are uniquely qualified to carry out such tidal analysis world-wide.
We can also provide a joint probability function of tidal height, tidal surge and wave height in order to estimate the likelihood of a material breach of defences.
Such studies can contribute to UK PPS25, PPG25 & TAN15 coastal & shore-side planning applications. Contact.
